Possible Yahoo! Fantasy Basketball Position Changes For 2019-2020 NBA Season

2 min read

The season is just around the corner meaning fantasy season is upon us again! Before you draft, however, take note of some possible position changes on players this season. Many players had three positions last year in Yahoo! and we may see that again now. It is important for players to have multiple positions, especially when looking to fill your team in the five positions in fantasy. Take a look at the three possible position changes in Yahoo! fantasy basketball!

LeBron James

LeBron James is listed as an SG and SF right now. However, Frank Vogel has stated he will be the main playmaker for the starters of the Los Angeles Lakers. The projected starting lineup for the Lakers has Avery Bradley pairing with James in the frontcourt. Unless Rajon Rondo or Alex Caruso slots in the PG starting spot for the Purple and Gold this year, LeBron James should have PG eligibility on Yahoo! sooner rather than later.

Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic was the only player in Yahoo! fantasy who had three positions eligibility last season. He was able to play PG, SG, or SF for the Dallas Mavericks as a rookie under Rick Carlisle. The reigning rookie of the year only has the PG eligibility this season though it is subject to change. Doncic will be sharing the backcourt with Tim Hardaway Jr., Delon Wright, Jalen Brunson, and Seth Curry this year. Yahoo! will have to think about going back to the three-position eligibility for the second-year guard depending on he is rotated this year.

Justise Winslow

The Duke forward has played point guard for a majority of the second half of last season. He thrived averaging 15.1 points, 5.5 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game while shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 34.4 percent according to HoopsHabit. The sample is obviously small however many have called for him to have the PG eligibility last season when Goran Dragic was injured.

Eric Spoelstra has squashed the idea thus far stating Goran Dragic is still their starting point guard and has even fined Winslow for the comments stating his intentions. If his request indeed follows through, expect him to thrive again with more shooters like Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro on the roster this year.
